Digital health and mobile strategy innovation can’t be confined to any one geography. It takes a different focus in each area of the country. Biopharma in San Francisco. Med device in Minneapolis. Starting this year, MobCon won’t be either.
MobCon was founded in 2012 to bring national leaders in mobile integration and implementation to the Twin Cities to share their expertise and further the regional dialogue.
Then in 2015, we dedicated an entire MobCon to advances in digital health fueling momentum in healthcare — from using big data analytics to exploring how wearables are transforming care delivery.
Beginning this year, MobCon Digital Health will expand outside the Twin Cities to San Francisco.
Regional flavors of digital health progress
Digital health innovation is different in Minneapolis compared to San Francisco compared to other markets across the country. It’s driven by the mission of area businesses, their individual/collective focuses and the strength of life sciences associations continuing the conversation.
The expansion will increase the number of voices discussing how technology is changing healthcare and empowering the modern-day patient. Each conference will bring experts together to deconstruct what’s working and forecast where the industry is headed next. Interactive sessions around the future of digital health, the power of data, wellness technology and more will challenge attendees to collaborate and continue elevating outcomes through technology.
2015 in review
Our inaugural MobCon Digital Health featured 39 speakers, including staff from Cleveland Clinic, AthenaHealth and HealthPartners. Dr. Robert Wachter presented on how digital health tools are redefining patient/doctor interaction. Attendees from 3M, Medtronic, Mayo Clinic, Children’s MN and other healthcare power players connected during networking breaks throughout the day. This year, we’re doing it again.
“MobCon is an opportunity to celebrate entrepreneurial and digital health innovation,” said MobCon’s Marketing and Events Manager Kendahl Prokop, “We see that same momentum in San Francisco. We’re ready to explore the innovation that’s taking place in Silicon Valley. And we’ll have a guide through our partnership with the California Life Sciences Association.”
Growing national partnerships
MobCon Digital Health Minneapolis cultivated a partnership with Medical Alley Association (MAA) of Minnesota. With our expansion comes a new partnership with MAA’s sister organization California Life Science Association.
“Our formula for success is partnering with Life Science organizations in new regions that are closely connected with the issues facing the industry and opportunities within their state,” said Prokop.
The goal of these organizations is to act as the voice of the science sector while promoting and advancing the life science industry throughout their state.
MobCon Digital Health brought over 400 innovators together last year. The same turnout is expected for MobCon Digital Health San Francisco.
The event will take place at the Mission Bay Conference Center on September 7. It will be hosted by founding sponsor MentorMate and California Life Science Association, among others. Keynotes, speakers and agenda to be announced soon.
